The things we had to get photos of was
- Fuel at 99 cents
- group member with a friendly policeman
- Group with Water tanks
- Road sign with 'Loganlea Rd' on it
- Stand on head next to a ATM
- Go to a restaurant and tidy up. before and after shots
- Running up an escalator goind down
- A koala
- A Walking Pizza sign
It was so much fun. First we went to convince the petrol station to change the price to 99cents. The lady was really nice and she even let us change the numbers on the sign ourselves. Afterthat we headed to my Grandparents house to get a photo with a water tank. It turned out that they didn't even have a water tank but their next door neighbours who were out of town did. But there gate was locked so we all had to climb through my Mama's garden and over the fence. It was a challenge climbing the fence in my high healed shoes...but I did it. After we got that photo we then went to a big mall where we got the escalator shot and the before and after shots of tidying a restaurant and handstand next to an ATM. I was the only one talented enough to do a hand stand so I had to do it. It was so funny. People were looking at us weird...I don't blame them.
On our way back to my car and the rest of our challenges we saw some security men out for a smoke and thought that they would be a good substitute for a policeman if we never actually found a policeman. We were on the main highway heading back and it was then that we saw the big sign that said 'Loganlea Rd exit'. I had to actually stop in the middle of the road so my passenger's could take the photo. It was lucky that there was no traffic around. We were getting stressed out at one point because we didn't have alot of time left and I swear we were waiting at this one set of traffic lights for ages.
On our way to the Pizza takeaway shop I was pulled over by a cop for a random breath test (I had been worried for moment that they'd got some footage of me speeding...teehee). We made the most of the opportunity and asked the friendly (and quite good looking) police office if I could take a photo with him. He was very nice about it and commented that it was a strange request, but the second one that night. He thought it was funny. We went to Pizza Hut and the boys picked up the sign to pretend they were walking with it...the Pizza hut manager came outside to keep an eye on us. It's not like we could of gone very far with their sign. It was chained to the traffic light.
You're probably wondering how we got a photo of a Koala at 9pm at night. Well we worked with our creative minds and bought a Caramello Koala from the local 7/11 and took a photo of me holding it. We got an extension of time and we finished early. We went to a fun location and finished up the camera film with a bunch of random photos of ourselves doing stupid things.
It was such a fun night. It was the best idea ever and all the groups gathered at mcDonald's afterwards to compare notes and exchange funny stories. It is a great group bonding excercise. Our youth leader is going to develop the film this week and decide a winner.
If you're a youth pastor and have run out of ideas for youth activities...Do a scavenger hunt!
