Lesson no 1 for today: Don't drop Key's down the lift shafts. Especialy Beer Fridge keys
I had to go into the big massive beer fridge at work where they also keep orange juice for meetings. We're suppose to put the key back in it's safe place, but it's one of those things that you forget you have in your hand. So I'm in the lift and I realise that the key is in my hand. I go to thread it through the rope that alos holds my security access card and as the lift opens and i go to step out I pull the string tight (i obviously did it the wrong way). So I realized I dropped it, but I hadn't heard this dropping noise. I looked down to the ground and a horrible filling settled into the pit of my stomach..... Then I heard the sound of the key landing on something. Sure enough the key fell down the lift shaft. There's a gap(about 3cm) when the lift door opens between the lift and the building floor. I was in shock for about 2 minutes and couldn't believe what had just happened. I thought I was going to be in sooo much trouble. Then the more I thought about it, the more funny it was and the harder it was to stop laughing. It's just one of those stupid things that never happens. The probability of that happening is probably 1 in 1 billion or something. So I told the senior secretary who was helping me set up for this meeting and she also found it funny. Then I was paged over the intercom 'Kristy (last name) please call reception URGENTLY!!!!'. I thought that it meant my catering for the meeting had arrived.

I went to L4 reception where the receptionist paged me and said 'Is my caterin here?' and she said 'Rhondda need the beer fridge key for a meeting'. 'Oh man!'.

Apparantly it's not that big of a deal. There is a way to get the key retrieved at the bottom of the lift shaft, but it takes time and we had a meeting soon. The guy who holds onto the spare key is on holidays so as we speak people are trying to scrounge around for the spare key. It's one of the stupidest things that could ever happen.

They funnist thought is
imagining someone's face if one day they found the 'Beer fridge' key at the bottom of the lift shaft. If word got out, there would be a safety hazard because of all the people 'helping' to find it. lol!

I still can't believe it. I want to laugh and the slightest thing might set me off.
